2nd Level Support Specialist (German)

Astec teams are hired to advise clients on innovation and to design, build, maintain and support compliant enterprise software solutions.

We are looking for a long-term employee or contractor who will support ongoing 2nd level support efforts for multiple custom-built intranet web applications that are used by a leading German automobile manufacturer.

What You’ll Do

As a 2nd Level Support Specialist (German) on the Automotive team at Astec IT Services you will support users of applications that help our client in their daily operations:

  • Provide second level support of our client’s custom-built business applications that are used to improve the decision-making process and communication in the client’s organization
  • Identify, analyze and implement solutions to issues reported by users via ticketing system, phone and email
  • Ensure smooth operation of second level support in cooperation with foreign partners
  • Facilitate communication between users and third level support teams
  • Implement changes and adjust documentation according to ITIL methodology
  • Work on business days between 08:00 and 17:00 CET (8 hours/day)
  • Optionally provide 24/7 support (paid extra)

Skills You Have

  • Very good written and oral knowledge of German language (level C1 or better)
  • Developed communication skills
  • Experience in a similar position, using support ticketing systems
  • Ability to prioritize, be responsible and work independently
  • Knowledge of incident, change and issue management practices in line with ITIL methodology
  • Confidence in using business software tools
  • General understanding of IT, allowing you to freely use industry terminology

Nice To Haves

  • ITIL certification
  • Good written and oral knowledge of English language (level B2 or better)
  • Experience in a similar position in a large enterprise environment (preferably in the automotive sector)
  • Demonstrated success as part of a distributed team
